Our Children’s Ministry is dedicated to nurturing the hearts and minds of our youngest members, from newborns to middle schoolers. We aim to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment where kids can grow in their understanding of God, develop strong friendships, and learn how to live out their faith every day. Through Bible classes, fun activities, and meaningful service projects, we strive to plant the seeds of faith and equip children with a firm foundation that will carry them through life.

We take inspiration from Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:14: ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’ God places incredible value on children and the joy of guiding them closer to Him.

The teenage portion of our youth ministry is all about helping teens grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with Christ at the center. This is a place where teens can discover their identity in Christ, engage in uplifting fellowship, and learn how to live out their faith in practical ways. Through Bible studies, service projects, retreats, and fun activities, we aim to equip teens with a strong spiritual foundation and a supportive community to walk alongside them.

This ministry is guided by the words of 1 Timothy 4:12: “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” Paul’s words remind teens of their incredible potential to lead and make a difference, even at a young age.

Whether you’re deepening your understanding of God’s Word, connecting through fellowship, or serving others, we provide opportunities that help adults live out their faith and strengthen their walk with Christ.

A verse that resonates deeply with the mission of the adult ministry is Ephesians 4:15-16: “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Ministries during worship & bible class

The Audio/Video Ministry plays a vital role in our church community, facilitating the spread of the Gospel and enhancing the worship experience. By operating sound equipment, recording services, and managing visual presentations, members of this ministry ensure that the Word of God is clearly communicated to both those present and those who may be watching or listening remotely. This service is essential, as it allows us to reach a broader audience and ensures that those who cannot physically attend our services can still participate and be spiritually nourished. As the Apostle Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 14:26, ‘What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.’ In this spirit, the Audio/Video Ministry contributes to the edification of the church, making the message accessible and fostering unity among believers.

Those involved in this ministry have the opportunity to develop technical skills, work collaboratively, and serve God by supporting the church’s mission. It is a chance to be part of a team that is crucial to the life and growth of the congregation.

The role of a Bible Class Teacher is vital in the spiritual development of our congregation. Teachers impart God’s word, guide scriptural understanding, and foster a deepening of faith through engaging lessons and thoughtful discussions. As 2 Timothy 2:2 emphasizes, teachers play a crucial role in passing down the teachings of Christ.

The Teaching Assistant supports our Bible classes by aiding the teacher and enhancing the learning experience. Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with activities, providing help to students, and offering encouragement. This role is essential in creating a positive learning environment. Echoing 1 Corinthians 12:28, we value those who support the church’s educational ministries.

Those who serve as teachers or teaching assistants have the opportunity to impact lives, strengthen their own scriptural understanding, and contribute to the church’s spiritual health.

Greeters serve as the welcoming face of our congregation, offering a warm and friendly presence to all who enter our doors. This ministry is essential in creating an atmosphere of hospitality and fellowship, ensuring that both members and visitors feel valued and comfortable. Greeters play a vital role in embodying the Christian spirit of welcome and love. As Romans 12:13 encourages us, ‘Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality,’ highlighting the biblical emphasis on this important service.

Those who serve as greeters have a special opportunity to extend the love of Christ, connect with individuals on a personal level, and contribute to the unity and spiritual growth of the church. It is a meaningful way to serve God and His people by demonstrating the welcoming heart of our community.

Serving in our worship services provides invaluable opportunities to contribute to the spiritual life of our congregation. These vital roles include leading worship through song, ensuring order and attentiveness, facilitating the collection of contributions, presenting God’s word through scripture reading, guiding the congregation in prayer, and presiding over the Lord’s Supper. Each of these ministries plays a crucial part in creating a meaningful and edifying worship experience. As we are reminded in 1 Corinthians 14:40, ‘But all things should be done decently and in order,’ highlighting the importance of each role in maintaining a reverent and focused atmosphere.

Those who participate in these ministries have the privilege of serving God and His people, fostering a deeper connection within the congregation, and contributing to the spiritual growth and unity of the church.

ministries during the week

The Barnabas List is a weekly reminder of those in our church community who need encouragement and support. Reflecting the spirit of Barnabas (Acts 9:27), this ministry fosters a network of care through prayers, visits, cards, and expressions of support for individuals facing challenges, illness, or loss. Grounded in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (‘Therefore encourage one another and build one another up…’), the Barnabas List is a practical way to show Christian love, bear one another’s burdens, and strengthen our community bonds.

Our benevolence ministry is dedicated to extending the compassion of Christ to those in our community who are experiencing hardship. By providing assistance with essential needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, we seek to reflect God’s love in tangible ways. This ministry is grounded in the principles of Christian charity and the numerous scriptural calls to care for the less fortunate, such as Galatians 6:10: ‘So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.’ Through benevolence, we aim to offer help and hope, demonstrating the church’s commitment to serving others.

The Compassion Cards ministry serves as a means of expressing care and support to those who are experiencing difficulties. By sending cards of encouragement, sympathy, or congratulations, we extend a personal touch that can uplift and strengthen individuals during various life events. This ministry embodies the spirit of 1 Thessalonians 5:11, where we are urged to ‘encourage one another and build one another up.’ Through these simple acts of kindness, we demonstrate the love of Christ and foster a more connected and supportive church family.

Those who care for our facilities provide an invaluable service that often goes unseen. By maintaining our building and grounds, they create a welcoming and functional space for worship, education, and fellowship. This ministry supports the overall health and well-being of our church community. While not always explicitly mentioned in Scripture, the principle of caring for the physical space where believers gather can be inferred from the emphasis on orderliness and reverence in worship (1 Corinthians 14:40) and the general call to serve one another (Galatians 5:13). Through their efforts, they contribute to an environment that honors God and facilitates spiritual growth.

Fellowship events are vital for building strong bonds within our church community. These gatherings provide opportunities for members to connect, share experiences, and support one another outside of formal worship settings. As we are reminded in Hebrews 10:24-25, we should ‘consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.’ Fellowship events strengthen our sense of belonging and reflect the unity and love that should characterize the body of Christ.

Mission Sunday is a monthly gathering dedicated to focusing on East Main’s evangelistic endeavors, both locally and globally. This fellowship meal, held on the first Sunday of each month, provides a time for the elders to update the congregation on the progress of various outreach efforts and to encourage greater participation. Reflecting the spirit of Acts 1:8, where Jesus calls His followers to be witnesses ‘in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth,’ Mission Sunday serves to inspire and mobilize our church to spread the gospel.

Our ministry at Stones River Manor brings worship and fellowship to residents of this assisted living facility. Each Sunday, young men from our congregation lead a service designed to uplift and encourage those whose age or health prevents them from attending regular services. This effort reflects the heart of Christian service and the importance of caring for the elderly and infirm, as exemplified in James 1:27: ‘Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…’ Through this ministry, we extend God’s love and the fellowship of the church to those who are often confined.

Our transportation ministry is dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to worship services and church events. By providing rides to those who lack transportation, we aim to eliminate barriers to participation and foster a more inclusive church community. This ministry embodies the spirit of fellowship and service, reflecting the encouragement in Hebrews 10:24-25 to ‘consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.’ Through this service, we extend a helping hand, enabling all to gather and grow in faith together.

We Care Teams are small groups of church members, spanning all ages, who connect and fellowship a couple of times each month. These groups are designed to foster stronger relationships and encourage mutual support within our church family. By providing consistent opportunities for interaction and fellowship, We Care Teams strengthen the bonds of community and ensures that no one feels isolated or disconnected.
